Cheryl Donegan

Com formação em pintura, Cheryl Donegan emerge na década de 90 com trabalhos em vídeo. Tratavam-se de performances directas e irreverentes, impregnadas de um erotismo irónico. As acções performativas diante da câmera frequentemente resultavam em ou se relacionavam com pinturas e desenhos de processo. Mais recentemente, a abstracção nas suas pinturas provém de imagens degradadas de objectos de consumo, de espaços comerciais e de padrões simples. Acerca do seu trabalho mais recente, o crítico da Art Forum Nick Stillmann escreve: "permanece ácido, no entanto tornou-se abstracto." O seu trabalho tem sido exibido internacionalmente, como na Whitney Biennial, Estados Unidos(1995), na Biennale d'Art Contemporain de Lyon, França (1995), e na Venice Biennale, Itália (1993).
